The editing room

Stories people remember.

Brand films, motion graphics, animation and edits, planned from the brief and cut for the channels your audience already watches.

Illustrative frame An illustrative edit: a program monitor showing an abstract lit set, and below it a four-track timeline (two picture tracks, voice-over and music) with a playhead moving through five shots and markers for the hook, the message and the call to action.

(02)The script

Every frame has a job.

Most video goes wrong before the edit: no clear goal, no viewer in mind, one file forced onto every channel. So we write the job down first.

  1. Sc. 01

    Start with the job

What should someone think, feel or do after watching? That answer sets the script, the length and the shot list.

  2. Sc. 02

    Write for the viewer

We script around the question your customer is actually asking, and answer it where they will see it: in the opening seconds.

  3. Sc. 03

    Plan every cut at once

The master film, social cutdowns, captions and formats are planned in pre-production, not rescued in the edit.

(03)The cut08 stages

Eight stages. One cut.

Every project runs the same line, from the first question to the final export. Move the playhead through it.

V101

Strategy

What does the film need to do?

Goal, audience, message and channels agreed before anything is written. The brief every later decision is checked against.

  • Creative brief
  • Audience and message
  • Channel plan

V102

Storyboarding

See it before it's shot.

Script, treatment and frame-by-frame boards, so you sign off the film on paper while changes are still cheap.

  • Script
  • Treatment
  • Storyboards

V103

Production

Shoot with a plan.

Shot list, locations, crew, camera and light set up to capture exactly what the edit needs, plus the coverage the social cuts will want.

  • Shot list
  • Crew and kit
  • Direction on set

V104

Animation

When a camera can't get there.

2D and 3D animation for products that don't exist yet, processes you can't film and ideas that are easier to show than to say.

  • 2D animation
  • 3D product renders
  • Illustrated sequences

V105

Motion Design

Graphics that move with intent.

Titles, lower thirds, data moments and logo animation built on your brand system. Eased properly, never bouncing for the sake of it.

  • Titles and supers
  • Logo animation
  • Motion toolkit

V106

Editing

Where the story is actually made.

Selects, structure, pace, J and L cuts, colour. We cut the master first, then the versions, and you review on timecoded links.

  • Offline and online edit
  • Colour grade
  • Timecoded review

V107

Sound

Half of what people feel.

Voice-over, music, sound design and a clean mix, balanced for phone speakers as well as studio monitors.

  • Voice-over
  • Music and sound design
  • Mix and loudness

V108

Delivery

Every ratio, every channel.

Masters and cutdowns in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5, captioned and exported to each platform's spec, with the project archived.

  • Masters and cutdowns
  • Captions and subtitles
  • Platform-ready exports

(04)Reframe

One shoot. Every screen.

We frame for the widest shot and the tallest phone on the same day, so the story holds on a website hero and in a Story.

The subject stays inside the safe area in every ratio. That's planned on set, not cropped in hope.

(05)The bin06 formats

Six formats. One crew.

From a flagship brand film to a month of social cuts, the same team plans, shoots, animates and edits it.

Typical lengths. Every brief differs.
